I was reading a verse about the disciples were to go out and preach the Gospel. They are to not take any gold or silver and put them in the pocket. They were to trust God for what they need and know that their needs will be met.
Matthew 10:5-10
5 These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: “Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans. 6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 7 And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ 8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead,[a] cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. 9 Provide neither gold nor silver nor copper in your money belts, 10 nor bag for your journey, nor two tunics, nor sandals, nor staffs; for a worker is worthy of his food.
Preaching is not for anyone of us to make a living off of it but to bring Salvation to others. Just as we received Salvation as Free gift but it cost the Son of God his Life on the Cross.
"Freely you have received, freely give." Wow.. that's pretty sums it up. As a pastor, I should preach for free, not to make a living out of it Christ gave me free gift of Salvation and I should share the Gospel to others for free. His Love for you is free. His forgiveness for you is free. So if I was to give you 20 dollars, it should be a gift, not a loan. If I was to help you tend your yard or mow your yard, it should be out of love and desire to do so.
Which made me wonder and ponder about something.. What if all the local pastors were do preach for free and not get paid a penny at all and earn money by going to work? Nothing wrong with money or possession but what are our priorities? If we put God first and obey His commandments, then we should be taken care of. Being a pastor is a privilege, not a job. Pastor is there to greet, help, minister, and make sure they go home as uplifted spirits. I have seen pastors come on stage as an entertainer and not uplifting anyone's spirits at all. If we, as pastor, have no building to preach, do we stop preaching? No! We keep on preaching until God calls us home.
As the bible say, it's easier for a camel to enter through the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter the kingdom of Heaven. Love is much more greater than all the gold and silver in the world. It's the greatest gift any one of us can share.
I love to share the Gospel in ASL and voice! God have blessed me with Andrea Anaya Serratos! Looking forward to living the dreams with my lady.

My thoughts for today.
First of all, before we became Christians, we were non believers first until someone came to tell us about Christ, His Salvation, and His finished works on the Cross.
Second of all, just because they don't believe in Him or turn away from God, doesn't mean that we should be judgmental of how they live their lives or what they believe in, or bashing them because they turn away from Christ. We are here as peacemakers, to love them, to uplift their spirits, and to be there for them when they need our help.
Look in the Bible, there are countless of events where Jesus healed the sick that were not even believers until after they got healed. Jesus showed the Love for you and others first before we came to Him. We changed or transformed AFTER we wholeheartedly accept Christ as our Savior. Anyone can say, "I am saved" but it must be in the heart not the mind. It must be a spiritual acceptance of allowing Christ to enter your heart and feel the loving presence of the Most High God.
What can we do as Christians to those who rejects Him? Don't condemn them but instead, PRAY for them! LOVE them! Let them go and God will take care fo them and go to others people to whom we can witness the Love of Christ. We can't force anyone to accept Christ. It must be their free will choice and we are not to interfere with it.

Christmas 2013
It's the time of the year when we all get together to give out presents,
have Christmas dinner, and celebrate the holiday together with families
and friends.
But what is Christmas all about?
Christmas is about our Savior. It's about how He came into the world to bring Salvation to all mankind. Christ came to save, not to condemn us. He came to love, not to destroy. He came to give us peace, not problems.
I love Christmas. It really gives me pleasure to see my kids and wife happy but most of all, it gives me much more joy when they thanked the Lord for our Jesus Christ, our Savior for all the blessings they have.
Let's thank God for all the blessings!

Journeying into 2014
The year of 2013 have given me many new challenges. As of now, I have
been a pastor for the deaf for Grace New Covenant Deaf Mission Church and Executive

My goals for 2014 is to continue to reach out the rejected, the lost, new people to Christ. I love to preach all about Jesus and share the Love of Christ. It's one of the most wonderful blessing that God have given me, to preach the wonderful Gospel.
As executive director for Fort Smith Association of the Deaf, I am facing new challenges as well. Creating events to reach out not only to the deaf but to CODA, the hearing, and those who are interested in the deaf culture and its environments. FSAD is looking forward to providing new connections to the deaf world, different educational classes , and empower both deaf and hearing worlds !

Back to the old blog!
Hello everyone! I am back! I really enjoyed writing on blogger. So far, I have been writing on Hubpages and since it's not for personal blog, I decided to pour out my heart to this blogger page again. I hope and pray that this page will continue to bless you.
Grace New Covenant Church *Deaf Mission* is going very well. As a pastor, I have noticed that many people are hungry and thirsty for His Word. Since ASL (American Sign Language) wasn't my primary language to start out with, the congregation was kind to teach me as much as they can. For that, I am always grateful for their love and trust that have in me as a pastor, a friend and a brother in Christ.
This church started out as a bible group that had about 6 people (not to sure if I remembered correctly!) and over the next few weeks, they have asked me to set up a church. I have had the desire and heart to create a church for a long time and I know that God have called me to the ministry for the deaf. Now we have over 20 people in the church, both deaf and hearing and I am so blessed to be their pastor.
I would like to start writing my input on my thoughts and experiences as a pastor in this blog. If you have any question about my experiences, my thoughts, questions on the Bible, let me know!

Verses for today.
And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has enabled me, because He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry, although I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an insolent man; but I obtained mercy because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant, with faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen. (1 Timothy 1:12-17 NKJV)
We as preachers of the Gospel should thank God that He called us into ministry. We are to uplift everyone through the Love of Christ and pray for those who need prayers. God's calling for us is for life.

Bible as my help.
The Bible to me is something that I could not ever let go. It's my living spiritual food for my soul, spirit, and hope. Whenever I am down, discouraged, or frustrated, I can always turn to my Bible for strength, wisdom and peace.
2 Timothy 3:16-17
2 Timothy 3:16-17
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
All scripture is given by God! I used the Bible to help me correct my mistakes, my downfalls, my weaknesses and many other reasons. It helped me to listen to God and pray prayers according to the Word of God.
So anytime you have a situation that seems impossible to get out, turn to His Word and trust God. Even when days are good, thank Him for the good days. We should thank God for the Word of God everyday and read it daily.

Being humbled in Christ.
What's the definition of being humbled?
Some would say : By being nice. Other will say by helping one another..
Being humbled is a term of where a person is thinking about other people's need and showing compassion with unconditional love.
Pr 16:19 Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.
Being humbled is not an easy task. For someone like me, I tend to carry pride in myself and that would make my lovely wife mad with passion (joke). She would always say, "Roger, stop your ego!" or "Oh Roger, why do you do that for?" It took me years to learn that being humbled means to let go of myself and allow God (Holy Spirit) to lead me in His wisdom.
Look at Jesus. Jesus was the most humbled man on Earth who is also fully God Himself. He served us and took care of us even though He's God! He loved us so much that He died for us, paid the price of our Sins on the Cross even though He was without Sin! What a mighty God we serve! He washed the disciples' feet to show them that He came to save not to condemn us any way. He came because He loved us and wants us to be with Him in Heaven.
How can we humble ourselves? First of all, we gotta be saved by Grace! Knowing how much He have paid the price through His death, will help us realize how much we need Jesus. It's not by our performance that we earn righteousness, it's By His performance that we receive the gift of righteousness. All glory to God and we should thank Him that we have that Gift of Righteousness through the Death of Jesus Christ and His resurrection.
Secondly, we need to make sure that our pride, greed, selfishness, and ego not to take over us. The flesh is what makes prideful or full of ego. We should show compassion with unconditional love with other without condemning other without find faults in them. We should let them know that God loved them so much as He does to us that Jesus died for us. Being humble will allow others to see Jesus in us. Not by our good deeds but by our Faith in Christ and knowing that being a humble servant of the Lord will give Christ out of us. We are the messengers of God that can bring the lost souls to Salvation by accepting Jesus as their personal Savoir.
Also praying shows that we are humbled before the God. We let Him know that we need our Father everyday. That's why Jesus prayed! He showed His Father that just because He's the Son of God doesn't mean that He can belittle the disciples or the people on Earth. He showed His disciples that it's alright to be humble before the Lord.
I pray that this blog can help at least one person who reads this. May God bless you all and be full of Jesus!

Trusting God without fear and doubt.
In the flesh, it's easy to be afraid to trust God 100 percent. Doubting and Fearing are something I have struggled with for a long time and even at the present time, I feel that the flesh is trying to take over my emotion and spiritual peace by fear.
Trusting God is very important to me. Despite the circumstances I have faced today, I still thanked God for the blessings we have. I thanked Him for my wife, my four daughters, a home, a van to drive, and limited income. Even though I found out that my SSD got reduced, it shook my spiritual being by disappointment and anger. But I reminded myself with my wife's help that God is full of Grace and full of Blessings and we still need to trust Him 100 percent. So I am sitting in my office in the carport, thanking God no matter how much it hurts us to know that our budget got reduced. At least we are abler to pay for our home, bills, and food.
Trusting God means give all our problems and trials to God. Let's God take care them while we rest in Christ. Christ have died for us so that we can have the blessings we don't deserve. He died with sin, by being poor, and scourged for us so that we can be blessed according to His richness. It's not by our performance that we will receive the blessings from Him, it's by Trusting God with everything we are and having the faith that is focused only in Christ Himself.
When we put fear in the trust, the trust become shakable or unstable. Throw that fear out and just Trust Him. No matter what happened to us or what we are all going through, God is still your answer by Looking at Jesus on the Cross. The Cross provides us the wisdom and blessings that we can receive by Grace alone.
Keep on trusting God fully. Smile and keep on praising Jesus. He's our Light and we are in it!

Preaching / Teaching on Facebook!
Facebook is a great tool for me to teach about the Bible and be able to communicate with other deaf people around the world. It's a blessing to be able to witness and bless other with the Love of Christ.

Matthew 28:18-20
New King James Version (NKJV)
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
Jesus have authority from Our Heavenly Father. He wants us to train, teach and mentor the future pastors , chaplains, ministers, and many more to preach the Gospel to the world.. We are to help others to come to Christ and receive salvation through Him. He loves us all and wants us saved by Grace!

I am sitting here on the comfortable couch, looking at my emails, facebook postings, and doing some work for the church and preparing for the new start of Grace Mission Church. I was pondering about my new responsibilities as a pastor and I asked God, "What can I do to please you?" and the very thing He said was to, "Bring the souls to Salvation by the Blood of Christ." And it dawned on me that God wants His children back because He loves them. If God didn't love His children, then why would Jesus die on the Cross for us? Hmmm, makes me realize how much our Lord Jesus Christ loves us because He sacrificed His Life for us on the Calvary. God loves us all and because we are saved by Grace, not by works, He wants us to be blessed not because we are doing right but because of what Jesus did right and as a sinless man, He deserved to be blessed than us because we are sinners. But because we accepted Christ, His righteousness became our GIFT! Oh praise the Lord! We are the righteousness of God in Christ!

We should thank Jesus for the Freedeom. Salvation is free for us but cost God everything. It cost God's Son, Jesus Christ, His Life on the Cross to pay for all of our sins! We should put God first in everything in our lives. May God bless America and the whole world. We need Jesus in the World as our Saviour.
